St Patrick's Day.

We made some cards, a shamrock to represent the Trinity, and read about this great saint.
Later we made some fruity Irish soda bread.I got the recipe from "Lent and Easter in the domestic Church" by Catherine and Peter Fournier.
3 cups flour
2 tsp basking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter
2 cups raisins
1 egg
1/2 cup of honey
1 cup buttermilk (or milk with lemon juice added)
Sift the flour, baking powder, soda and salt into a bowl. Add the butter and make "breadcrumbs". Add raisins and stir.
Beat the eggs, then add honey and buttermilk.
Gradually add until mixture is evenly moistened but not smooth. It should be rough and lumpy.
Bake for an hour until middle is set.
